2.6.14.3

A few weeks late, but I finally updated my primary box at home to the 2.6.14.3 kernel from 2.6.12.2. Actually, I tried to do it yesterday, and hit a slew of problems:
* my box hates ACPI. Basically IRQ 10 falls off the map, which disables sound
* vmware-5.0 needed an update from the 'vmware-any-any-update' package. I was using v93, and fixed it by going to v96
* more headaches with the nvidia driver & my system. After alot of hacking around, i discovered that I needed to a) enable the via_agp kernel module, b) enable APIC support in the kernel, c) clock down the AGP bus from 8x to 4x, d) disable fast-writes in the BIOS for the AGP controller
But now everything is working smoothly.
