I just upgraded my primary computer at home from 1GB to 2GB of RAM. It wasn't starved for RAM by any means, but its been doing some moderate swapping (100MB) for a while now, and I figured the extra GB would help. I saw a small, yet noticable performance improvement just in overall bootup time. X started much faster.
Right now, I'm installing Half Life 2 (using Cedega) via the Steam installer. This looks like its going to take forever to finish (only about 1% done after 15 minutes).
